What we do

We support individuals and families so they can reach their full potential!

Hispanos Unidos de Buffalo (HUB) is a nonprofit organization based in Buffalo, New York, providing integrated care and social services to underserved communities in the Upstate / Western New York Region. Founded in 1989, HUB’s mission has expanded to enable residents in urban settings to become self-sufficient citizens who contribute to the quality of life in their communities. HUB became an affiliate of Acacia Network in 2012.
Affordable Housing

Hispanos Unidos de Buffalo (HUB) and our property management affiliate, Buffalo Hispanic Management Corporation, oversee a portfolio of 31 units of affordable & market rate housing, as well as 46 units of affordable / supportive housing for low-income seniors through our new development, La Plaza de Virginia.

Rapid Re-Housing

We support low-income families living in shelters due to domestic violence. Services include housing search and placement, temporary rental assistance, tenant-landlord mediation, translation services, and case management, as well as linkages for employment, education, counseling, and other supportive services.

Behavioral Health

Our partner Promesa Inc, also an affiliate of Acacia Network, offers integrated behavioral health and substance use treatment at the Alba de Vida outpatient clinic, which is fully licensed by the NYS Office of Addiction Services & Supports (OASAS). Alba de Vida is located within the HUB Campus on Virginia Street.

Health Homes

Our Health Home Care Coordinators provide expert, bilingual support and guidance to manage a person’s heath care and wellness. Services are FREE and voluntary and people are not required to switch their doctor. Once enrolled, a care coordinator will work closely with the individual to develop a plan and obtain services. The Health Home is part of the Greater Buffalo United Accountable Healthcare Network.

Older Adult Services

We offer a robust array of services for older adults, including a Recreational Senior program, Stay Fit Dining Program, People Inc. Companionship, and a Senior Social Day Care Program. We offer daily culturally-responsive programming, social services, advocacy, transportation, and more. The Social Day Care accepts managed care insurance to ensure a higher level of care with a licensed nursing professional.

Domestic Violence

We empower survivors of family violence through comprehensive support services that include safety planning, case management, advocacy, referrals to shelters and housing alternatives, non-clinical counseling, and assistance with navigation of the court system. We also provide parenting classes and a 12-week support group, in an effort to prevent children from entering foster care.

Preventive Services

We offer supportive and rehabilitative services to families in order to avoid disruption to the family unit and/or foster care placement. Families are referred by the Erie County Department of Social Services and assigned to Case Planners.

Nutrition Programs

Our emergency pantry and food distribution efforts tackle food insecurity and hunger in the Buffalo area by providing access to emergency food and information resources, serving thousands of vulnerable families every year.

And More…

HUB provides access to additional services and supports to individuals of all ages in order to build strong and healthy neighborhoods, including youth and family services, educational and vocational assistance, referrals, and more.
